Serious Sam Classic - The First Encounter Walkthrough by TheMaster
The NETRICSA console should guide you through most of the game. But just incase it doesn't or if it confuses you, I will begin writing walkthroughs for both games. Each day I will write at least a walkthrough for the next level. CAUTION!!! Do NOT read any of this if you do not want the games spoiled.
Hatshepsut -- 7 secrets
The game begins with a cut-scene. You are told that Earth is under attack by the forces of the alien entity Mental and that you, Sam (Serious) Stone, are to be sent back in time to counter the threat. Sam is teleported into Egypt in the 1700s BC via the Time-Lock. When he lands, the game begins.
You start this level out on the Time-Lock that brought you here. Head immediately to your right and look behind the pillars for Secret #1, an extra Pistol.
Now go back to the Time-Lock and start up the ramp. As you go up the ramp you will meet your first enemy, the Beheaded Rocketeer. Kill him then continue. At the top of the ramp a lightning bolt will strike a group of more Rocketeers. There is also a health vial at the top of the ramp, if you should need it. When the storm is over, get on the wall and follow it to the right. Jump onto the lower ledge, and look to the left for Secret #2, a Rocket Launcher. The opposite wall will take you to Secret #3, some Rockets.
Going behind all the pillars at the bottom of the ramp will summon more Rocketeers and a Gnaar Male. There is also another health vial to the left. So unless you want to save some ammo, go right for it. Go down the ramp behind the Time-Lock then look at the door on the left side of the base of the temple. Move up right next to it to open it, and trigger Secret #4, more Rockets. Opening the door will release some Sam fans. The door on the opposite side must be blasted open with a rocket. When you do though you will release more fans and get Secret #5, some armor. Now head away from the temple. You should spot an oasis off in the distance.
Once you are away from the temple four Bio-Mech Majors will spawn. Kill them, then head for the Oasis, which is Secret #6, and pick up the health heart, Shotgun Shells, and Rockets. Do not destroy the tree. If you do, you will summon some Witch-Harpies. Now go all the way back to the top of the temple and head to the right. Walk up against the wall panel to open it and get Secret #7, a Double-Barrel Shotgun.
Turn right around and kill the Gnaar. Now enter the temple, take the Pistol, and kill the Gnaar Female. The elevator behind you will take you to a health vial and another Rocketeer. When you ride the elevator back up you will have to kill a Firecracker. Now go through the door and take the 14 armor shards on either side of you. There is a Bomber on the other side of the pool, so kill him and wait for him to explode before getting to where he was. The pool has a health cube. Past the next door grab the armor, Shotgun Shells, and the 12-Gauge Pump-Action Shotgun, and kill the small army of enemies that come out of the next door. The enemies include Gnaars, Rocketeers, Firecrackers, and a Kleer Skeleton at the end. Go through the door to exit this level.

Sand Canyon -- 6 secrets
As you go through the first door, pick up the five boxes of Shells and the health potion. You should now hear someone screaming. Note the Beheaded Kamikaze coming down the hill towards you that needs to be blown to hell. "AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH yourself!" Sam will say when you kill him, and more enemies will appear. "Uh-oh..." More Kamikazes, Firecrackers, Rocketeers, Gnaars, and a Kleer will have to be taken care of. Pick up the armor shard to the left. There are also some Shells to the left of the building. To your right, next to a tree, there is some more armor. Head up the slope on the right side of the building then turn around, and do a tricky jump onto a flat area on the hill for Secret #1.
You will find a health potion, Shells, some Tommygun/Minigun Bullets, and some Rockets. More Kamikazes will be summoned and will come at you. Remember to kill them before they reach you, so you don't be injured by their explosions. More will be summoned as you leave this area. Now go back up the slope you used to get to this secret. Move up against the wall to open it and get Secret #2, armor, Rockets, Shells, Bullets, all guarded by some Harpies.
Now enter the building. Get the armor and then take the passage to the left. Some Shells and a health vial are here. And so are a couple of Kleers. Now go through the door back at the top and go down the ramp. Ignore the Kamikazes and the Rocketeer, as they will simply run by you. When the gate opens, head to the left, then step back as a boulder starts rolling your way. The boulder can be destroyed with a couple Rockets, but I would not recommend wasting the ammo. Just wait for it to come to a stop, and continue. Get the health potion, armor, Shells, and the health tablet on the ledge with the statue. Now go to the right, kill the Rocketeer, and enter the next room. Kill the Kamikazes and the Rocketeer then look to the right for a discolored wall panel. Move up against it and it will open revealing Secret #3, a Tommygun and some ammo.
Now kill the swarm of Marsh-Hoppers that is now coming into the room. Go through the door and take out the Bomber, Gnaars, Firecracker, and Kleer. Take the health potion then look to the right of the entrance door. You should see a raised floor panel. This is a bounce pad which will take you to Secret #4, some armor.
Back on the ground, head right and take the health potion and armor shards, and kill the attacking Gnaar Females. Enter the hole in the wall and take the armor and the Shells. Look under the ramp for Secret #5, a health potion.
Kill the Kleer as you leave this room. Now enter the room to the left, take the Shells and go up the ramp. Some Gnaars and Marsh-Hoppers will need your attention. At the top, kill the Rocketeer behind you, then take the health potion and the armor. Go through the door and take the Shells. You will find yourself outside again. A Rocketeer and a Bomber will be the first to attack. Head to the right for some Shells and a health vial. Be sure to take out the Gnaar and the Rocketeer. Heading further down this valley, look to the right for more Shells and some armor. There is also a health vial to the left which triggers a boulder trap. Further down the valley kill the Rocketeers and a new attacking enemy, the Sirian Werebull. To your right is a health potion. To your left is a health tablet and some armor being guarded by another boulder trap. Picking up the health tablet will spawn a Rocketeer and a Kleer. At the end of this path you will be attacked by more Gnaars, more Rocketeers, a Bomber, and a Bio-Mech Minor. When all is calm climb up the left side of the building and get Secret #6 on the roof, some Shells and a health tablet.
Pick up the health tablet and kill the Gnaar Males that come after you. Now enter the door and Sam will pick up the Air Element, and this level will end.

Tomb of Ramses -- 8 secrets
You start out this level under attack by two Kleers. Kill them quickly, then pick up the Shells and health vial. A Gnaar is also coming down the ramp so kill him, then go up the ramp. Kill the Kamikazes charging at you, then at the top of the stairs kill the Bomber. You should now be in a room with more Rocketeers, open areas to your left and right, and some stairs right in front of you. The room to your left has a couple more Rocketeers and a levitating Gnaar Male. Also a health vial. Now enter the room to your right. Kill the Rocketeer and the Gnaar then continue. Get the health tablet, then kill yet another Rocketeer and a Bomber. Now go up the stairs. Get the health vial, then make the jump to the next ledge for Secret #1.
Pick up the armor and the Shells. Then drop down into the room you were in earlier. Now go back and climb the stairs in the center. Get the health vial then kill the Kleer that will surprise you. Go down the hall and look for some Shells in a niche to the left. At the end of the hall kill the Bomber, Rocketeer, and Gnaars. Take the two armor shards and health tablets in the four corners and kill some more Gnaars and Rocketeers. Go down this hall and you will be confronted by some more Rocketeers and a Kleer. Get use to them, they are abundand throughout the game. There is a health vial in a niche to the right and some Shells to the left. The next room has yet some more Rocketeers and a couple Gnaars, so kill them all. Take the health vials and the Shells then go up the stairs and look to the right. Get on the burner then get on the ledge and follow it to the right. Follow it around the corner and get Secret #2 in the rafters, a health heart. Now follow the ledge to the left to register Secret #3, a shortcut into the next hallway.
Pick up the Shells then head right. You will find some more Shells and some armor in the niches. The door will shut as you try to go through it. Turn around and kill some Gnaars and a new enemy, an Arachnoid Juvenile. The door will open when they are finished off. Go up the stairs, kill the Rocketeer and the Arachnoid. To the left you will find some more stairs and some more Rocketeers. Collect the shells then look down to the right for some sparkles in the air. This is Secret #4, a teleporter which will take you to a ledge containing Secret #5, a Rocket Launcher.
Back on the main path you will find a health vial, some more Shells, and some armor. The next wide open area has some Gnaars, an Arachoid, and many Rocketeers. When you pick up the health tablet two the left, two more Rocketeers will be spawned. A Kleer is guarding a box of Shells. Go up the stairs, then turn right at the intersection. There are some Shells and a health vial on this ledge. When you pick up the health vial you will summon another Gnaar and another Arachnoid. Ignore the urge to follow the ledge out, it leads to nothing. Instead go left at the intersection. Kill the Rocketeer and the Kleer then collect the health potion behind you. Further out you will be ambushed by two levitating Gnaars. You will find two health vials at the top of the stairs. Enter the first room to your right. Take the armor shard and kill a Kleer, Bomber, and more Rocketeers. Up the stairs you will find more Shells and another health vial. Go back outside, then get on the rafter and follow it to the right to an alcove containing Secret #6, a health heart.
Go through the door and kill the Rocketeers, Firecracker, and Kamikaze. An armor shard is waiting for you at the top. Turn around and kill the Arachnoid on the ledge above. Note that ledge because we will be going there later. Go out and get the Shells and health potion. Then go back and kill the Rocketeer and the Firecracker. There is another armor shard to your right, and watch out for a Firecracker from above. Up the stairs to the left there is another shard, which summons a Bomber, Rocketeer, and Gnaar. Head for the blue armor and you will be attacked by a Kleer, Rocketeer, Bomber, and Gnaars. Take the armor now that everything has stopped moving, go up the stairs and get the health cube. Go right to find Secret #7, a hidden passage containing a health potion, Bullets, and Rockets. Continue following it out to the ledge where the last Arachnoid was and claim Secret #8, some red armor.
Now go back to the health cube area and go left. Collect the Shells and go between the statues into the next room. This room has armor, health, and ammo scattered around. A multitued of enemies will also be attacking. In the center of this room, pick up the Shells and Double-Barrel Shotgun. Kill everything that attacks you. At the end of this room an Arachnoid Adult will attack you, so will two more Bombers. When you are done, get the health cube and go through the door that just opened. Sam will collect the Earth Element, ending this level.

Valley of the Kings -- 4 secrets
Start this level out by heading outside and killing the Gnaar Female and the Rocketeers. More enemies will now charge at you including more Gnaars, Rocketeers, Kamikazes, Kleers, Bombers, and Werebulls. Head up the dunes immediately to your right for some Shells and armor. Picking up the armor will spawn some more Gnaars, Bombers, and a Kamikaze. Continue down the valley and you will be attacked by more Kamikazes. One of them is riding a Werebull. But you have no time to laugh at them. Get the Shells over by the tree. Now you have some Bio-Mech Minors to take out. When they are all dead, kill the Bio-Mech Major, and then after that take care of the Marsh-Hoppers. Go up the dunes to your left for some armor, then back in the valley, get the health potion. More Kamikazes and Bulls are coming after you, so take care of them. Then take the Shells. More Shells and a health potion lie near the stairs. When you get them, kill a new enemy at the top of the stairs, a Reptiloid Common. Get the health cube, then the Rockets and the Rocket Launcher. Now turn around and note the Reptioloid Highlander that just appeared. The health bar at the top is his health, so take him out. Remember to shoot down his homing missiles before they hit you, they are shot in a very quick succession. Now destroy the statue on this platfor. (Note: You must destroy ALL statues in this level. You'll find out why later.) Get the health potion in the corner then go through the doors.
You should now be in a room with a door at the other end, two rooms to either side of you, some water, and a gold Ankh on a raised platform. Kill the Rocketeers then get the health vial. Now dive into the water. Collecting the health potions will summon a new enemy, the Reeban Electrofish. One Electrofish is guarding some rockets. Surface then get back on the bridge. Enter the room to your left, kill the Rocketeers, levitating Gnaars, Reptiloid, and the Arachnoid. Now get the Shells, armor shards, health vials, then push the button to lower the Ankh a bit. Now enter the room to the right. You will have to deal with some more Rocketeers, Gnaars, and Arachnoids. Take the armor, health tablets, and the Shells, then push the button to lower the Ankh so you can reach it. Take the Ankh then open the doors to the next room.
Note the sleeping Arachnoid in here. Time to wake it up and put it to sleep! When he is dead get the Shells and the health potions then go down the ramp and get the Rockets. Go further down the ramp for more Shells then go down this great hall. Kill the Bomber, Rocketeers, Firecrackers, and Gnaar, then continue. Kill the Kleers and Gnaars at the end of this hall. Now get the Shells and go down the stairs. Get more Shells then enter the next room where the door will seal and two Gnaars and a Bomber will be summoned. Killing the Gnaars will open the door, but also send in some Kleers and Marsh-Hoppers. Enter the next room, destroy the statue, then collect the health vial. The platform where the statue was has some more shells. To your right watch out for some more Rocketeers and Gnaars. Get the health tablet in the corner then go down the ramp, collecting 10 more health tablets. In the next room kill the Gnaar, Firecrackers, and Gnaars, then destroy the statue to the left and take the Shells and health potion. Kill some more Rocketeers, and now go down the ramp into the next room with a ring of health tablets. Go straight into the room in front of you and destroy the statue. Kill the Gnaar and Rocketeer then get the Shells, health cube, armor, and a Papyrus in the corner. This Papyrus tells you about a mythical place known as the Moon Mountains, which is out next destination.
As you leave this room kill the Marsh-Hoppers, then head to the left. More Marsh-Hoppers, Kleers, and an Arachnoid await you. So does a health vial. Go to the right and pass the "Wall of Darkness." There are some more Shells, health vial, and armor here. Push the button and listen to the sound of galloping Kleers heading your way. Face the Wall of Darkness but do not fire until your crosshair changes color. Go through the now unlocked door and enter the hallway. You will be ambushed by Firecrackers and Kamikazes. In the next room, the one with the health heart in a cage, kill the Arachnoid, Kleer, and Rocketeers. Get the armor, Shells, and health vial, then enter the cage and get the heart. You will be trapped in here while some Rocketeers come at you. They can also come in through the bars. When they are dead more Kleers and Arachnoids will have at you just as the cage opens, allowing you to leave. Kill the Firecracker then examine this next area.
The room to your left has a statue with a button at its base. The room on the right has a stone Ankh in water, a spike trap above it, and a button on the wall to the right. Enter the room to the left first off. Kill the Gnaar and Firecrackers, take the health potion, and push the button at the statue's base. This will deactivate the spike trap. Now destroy the statue. Back outside kill the Rocketeers then push the button next to the water room. Get the Shells then enter the water, take the Ankh, then climb out. Now enter the next area and grab the Shells, Bullets, Tommygun, armor and health cube, then watch the pyramid open up revealing a bright light. Marsh-Hoppers will be spawning from that light, and you will also be attacked by Kamikazes and Kleers. When the battle is over enter the door to the left and kill the Kleer. Now look to your right for a hidden bounce pad. Use it to get up in the rafters for Secret #1, armor.
Back on the platform you were previously on, go up the ramp and Sam will collect the Fire Element, but this level is not over yet. Destroy the four statues in this room to register Secret #2. "Boom! All statues destroyed." This will also trigger Secret #3, a swinging platform in the next room. Do NOT fall into the river.
Ignore the bridge as well, as it will break and send you plunging into the river. In fact I recommend you save your game here, just in case. Get the Rockets, Bullets, and health tablets among this ledge and note the swinging wooden platform. Quickly jump onto it. If you feel you cannot make the jump, speed it up with a well-placed rocket. Now quickly jump to the other side. If you successfully made it, congratulations! You can now access the first secret level, Moon Mountains. Grab the Rockets and the Bullets then enter the passage to get Secret #4 and exit this level.

Moon Mountains -- 7 secrets
Welcome to the first secret level, Moon Mountains. Start this level out by collecting the Shells and Rockets, then crossing the bridge onto the first hill. Kleers, Bombers, Gnaars, Rocketeers, a Bio-Mech Minor, and Witch-Harpies are your first enemies in this level. Kill them all, then cross the bridge to the next hill. This bridge will give you some Rockets, Shells, and a health potion. A Kamikaze, some Bombers, Gnaars, and a Reptiloid will attack. On the next bridge get the Shells and the health cube then get on the next hill. Some Kleers will spawn, how nice. On the next bridge get the health potion and armor. And on the next hill get some Shells, Bullets, and a Tommygun. Take out the Gnaars and Harpies. Now look down the hill facing the wall. You should see a box of Bullets and some armor floating in the air. Get the Bullets and the armor will jump up in the air and land on the hill you are on. Collect it for Secret #1.
The next bridge to the next hill has some Shells, Rockets, Bullets, and a health cube. Now you will be attacked by Bombers, Marsh-Hoppers, and Bio-Mech Minors. The last bridge will have some more Rockets, more Bullets, and another health cube. And on the last hill you will have to kill some more Hoppers, a Reptiloid, and a Bio-Mech Major. Take the armor and the health potion, then go back to the 5th hill and examine the waterfalls. Walk to the very edge of this hill, then turn so your back is facing the falls. Do a rocket jump into a hidden passage to register Secret #2, and come under attack by a Kleer, Rocketeer, and Gnaar.
(Note: To do a rocket jump, look down at the ground. Fire a rocket, jumping at the same time and maneuver yourself into the passage.) Follow the ledge to the left out to Secret #3, a health cube.
Now go left and kill the Bomber, Rocketeer, Kleer, Gnaar, and Bio-Mech Minor that are spawned. Continue on and kill the Kleers, then get the Shells, Bullets, armor, Rockets, and more Shells, then kill the Gnaar Females. Out on the ledge, kill the Reptiloid then take the health potion. Now turn around and enter the passage to the right of the falls. A Kamikaze and some Marsh-Hoppers are guarding some Shells, Rockets, Bullets, and a health cube. As soon as you emerge from the tunnel it will seal itself off and remain shut for the rest of the level. Check out the view in this next area. Two circular ledges, and you are on the upper one right now. Do not fall into the chasm, whatever you do. Kill the Rocketeer, Bio-Mech Minor, and the Witch-Harpies and kill the Arachnoid and the Rocketeers on the lower ledge. On this ledge collect the health potion, Shells, and kill some more Harpies. Continue exploring this ledge for some Rockets, Bullets, a health tablet, an armor shard, and kill the Bio-Mech. Continue and collect the health potion, then drop down onto the lower ledge. Grab the Bullets, Rockets, Shells, armor shard, an health potion, and then take out the Reptiloid and the Bio-Mech. Pick up the Rockets and kill the Kleers and the Arachnoid, then enter the passage, but DO NOT drop down the hole yet. Go around it them move up against the wall and it will open up revealing Secret #4, some Rockets, Bullets, a health cube, armor, and a health tablet.
Collecting the tablet will spawn some Kamikazes. Exit this cave and now drop down into the hole. SPLASH! Taking any of the items in here will summon some Electrofish, so watch your back collecting the Bullets, Rockets, health potions and armor. Be sure to kill the Harpies as well. To the left of the door, hidden in some rocks, is Secret #5, a health heart.
Enter the door into the tunnel and kill the Kleer, Gnaar, and Firecracker. In the next room be careful, don't fall off the bridge. Get the health potion and Rockets to your left, Bullets and armor to your right, and the health cube in the middle. A Highlander will now appear, so kill him quickly, then look behind you. The tunnel has been sealed off. But blast it open for Secret #6, more Bullets and Rockets. Follow it to a hidden teleporter which is Secret #7.
This teleporter takes you to the other end of the bridge, behind the Highlander. Kill some Witch-Harpies, then take the armor shard to summon a Werebull and more Harpies. Head into the passage they came out of and get the health vial. Sam will jump into the river, ending this secret level.

Oasis -- 6 secrets
Immediately as you start this level, surface then turn around and go behind the waterfall for Secret #1, armor and an Ammo Pack.
Back outside, dive into the water and collect the Bullets and the Rockets. Follow the water to the left and collect the Shells, then kill the Bio-Mech Major and the Witch-Harpies. On the peninsula you will find some more Bullets. Kill some more Harpies and a Reptiloid. Now take the ammo and kill the Kleer and the Gnaar Female that were summoned. Now pick up the health cube and the health tablet. Some Kamikazes are now charging at you so take them out quickly. Take some more Bullets and Rockets, and then some armor. Some more Rockets and a health cube are near the building. Pick them up and kill the Reptiloid and the Kamikazes. Going past the building will spawn a Bio-Mech Major, some Kamikazes, and a horde of Kleers. Turn your back to the building and go collect the Shells, then head to the left and collect the armor, Rockets, and Bullets. Back in the water you will find some more Bullets. Now enter the building. To your left, more Bullets and Rockets. To your right, more armor and a health potion. Out in front of you, a Grenade Launcher. Pick it up and kill the Bio-Mech Major and the Kleers. Behind you collect a health vial in either corner. On both sides of this room are Shells. Get the health vial at the base of the statue, then destroy the statue. Now collect the left-side health tablet. Note the teleporting sounds you are hearing. You have registered Secret #2, the "Sound-Attack Secret."
Kill the Bio-Mech Major behind you. After he's dealt with you need to take the other health pill in this room, opposite side of the statue. Now take the passage to your left. Kill the Kleer that will ambush you, then go down the ramp. Pick up the Grenades, Shells, health potion, and the armor shard. The shard will trigger Secret #3, a bounce pad back on the statue platform.
Kill the Gnaars and the Marsh-Hoppers, then the Kleers and Bombers as you leave this room. Use the bounce pad to reach Secret #4, a Minigun. (Ohhhh yeahh!!!)
Now go to the right, and take out the Arachnoid and the Kleers. The armor shard will spawn two Kleers and a health cube. Get the health vial and tablet, and the newly-spawned health cube, then enter the next room. Gear up for the next battle with the armor and the Serious Pack, then a health bar will appear at the top of the screen and a horde of Marsh-Hoppers will rain in. Keep them under heavy fire. When they are all dead, get the Bullets and the health potion, or get them at your convenience. On the left wall blast open the second to the last panel from the right for Secret #5, more Bullets and another health potion. Enter but DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING! Step right out to trigger Secret #6, a surprise trap.
Take out the Arachnoid, then collect the items. Now watch out as more Hoppers are dumped into the room. Go through the door and collect the Shells, Bullets, Rockets, armor, and health cube. In this hall you will face in order a Bio-Mech Minor, Arachnoid Juvenile, Arachnoid Adult, Bio-Mech Major, Marsh-Hopper, and then many more Hoppers. Collect the armor then go through the door. Sam will collect the last of the four Elements, the Water Element, and end this level.

Dunes -- 6 secrets
As you start this level you are under attack by Bio-Mech Minors. Take the Serious Pack and kill them, then kill the Werebulls, Gnaars, and Bio-Mech Majors. Now kill a batch of Kamikazes. Once you've killed everything in the area, take the two health potions, then go over the hill and explore the dunes to your left. You should find a health potion which spawns Secret #1, some Rockets guarded by some Kleers. Now explore the dunes to the right. A health cube will spawn Secret #2, Rockets and Bullets guarded by some Kleers. Further out east you should see an oasis. That oasis is Secret #3, some armor and a health heart.
Kill the Witch-Hapries now coming out of the skies. Do not destroy the trees. As is with all oases if you destroy the trees, you increase the risk of dying from sunburn. Go back to the main path now. Collect the health potion, Rockets, armor, then kill the Kleers and the Werebulls. Now pick up the health heart and some Bullets and kill the Kamikazes and Bio-Mech Minors. Take the Serious Pack and the health potion. Now kill the Bio-Mech Majors, Kleers, Werebulls, Kamikazes, and Bio-Mech Minors. Now look to the left of the building for a tree which is Secret #4.
Destroy this tree to actually trigger the secret and claim the health cube, Bullets, and Rockets. Kill the Kleers and the Kamikazes. On the right side of the building contains a health potion and a health tablet on a ledge reachable with a rocket jump. The tablet will spawn a health cube. When you get the cube you will be ambushed by Kleers and Kamikazes, so ignore the items that spawned for now. Once the enemies are dead take the health potion, Bullets, and Rockets. Now go through the door and enter the courtyard. The first thing you will pick up in here is a Laser Gun. Laid out in front of you are a health tablet, health vial, health potion, health cube, blue armor, and a Serious Pack. There is another tablet as well. Now kill the Kleers, Bio-Mech Major, and Bio-Mech Minors, then take the Ammo Pack. Now take care of the Gnaars, Bombers, and the Reptiloids. Now note that the two triangular-shaped structures with the ramps both have a health cube under them. You should also find some more armor, a health vial, and health potion. Now examine the two structures on either side of the door. Use a rocket jump to get onto the structure on the left for Secret #5, Cells, a health cube, and Bullets.
Rocket jump onto the structure on the right, then immediately get off and step back. The pillars will buckle and the structure will collapse, revealing Secret #6.
Kill the two Bio-Mech Majors before you take the secret health heart. Now enter the door and exit this level.

Suburbs -- 7 secrets
This level is basically two big courtyards with items and enemies scattered throughout, So I will try to walk you through it covering everything to the best of my ability. Start off by killing the attacking Bio-Mech Minor, Kleer, and Kamikazes. Go to the left now and pick up the Bullets in the corner. Continue along the left wall and collect the Cells, then kill the Kamikazes, Gnaars, and the Arachnoid. Continue and get the health potion. Kill the Kamikazes, Kleer, and Arachnoids. Now follow the path behind a house for Secret #1, Rockets, Bullets, and a health cube.
Continue and kill the Reptiloids and Rocketeers. Get the Shells and then kill the Kleer, Arachnoids, Bio-Mech Minor, and the Reptiloid. Go out and take the health potion near a stone platform, then kill more Kamikazes. Back at the left wall, get the armor and kill some Arachnoids, a Reptiloid, a Gnaar Female, and a Kleer. Blast away the tree blocking the area in the corner and claim Secret #2, a health potion.
Following the wall, collect the health tablet and kill the Kleers. Ignore the door for now. Keep going and get the health vial. Further down the wall, take the armor and kill the Kleers, Rocketeer, Reptiloid, and Arachnoid. Next, get an armor shard. Turn right around and kill the Gnaar Males, then the Rocketeer. Now grab 100 Bullets, then 100 Cells, and kill a Kleer. Another Kleer is guarding some armor. Inside the courtyard itself, you will find some Bullets and some Cells. Pick up a health cube near a house as well. Oh yeah, be sure to kill the Kamikazes now. There is another health potion in this yard. Now enter the door and collect the armor, Rockets, Bullets, Cells, Shells, and Grenades, then go through the door into the next yard. Again you are already under attack by Bio-Mech Minors. Go down the left wall and kill some more Bio-Mechs. Follow the path around a house for Secret #3, a blue armor.
Keep going and kill the Kleer guarding some Shells. Get some Bullets and kill about four more Bio-Mechs. Break away from the wall for now and look at the pedastol with the button on it. Push the button to activate the sewer enterance, but not open it yet. Back on the wall, get the health potion, then turn around. Kill the Bio-Mechs and the Arachnoid. Get two health tablets, and kill two more Bio-Mechs. Get the health potion for Secret #4. Yes, you will have more Bio-Mechs to kill as you go past the door and get the armor shard for Secret #5, which is called the "Secret Yodeller."
Kill the Reptiloid, Bio-Mech Minor and Major. Keep going down the wall and kill all the Bio-Mechs you encounter. Grab the health tablet and Rockets for Secret #6. Guess what, you are trapped!
Up above, kill the three Bio-Mech Minors and the one Major. The trap will open allowing you to leave. A Kleer is guarding a health vial. Take it then kill all the Bio-Mechs you see. Take some Cells and kill more Bio-Mechs. Take the Bullets and kill some Kleers. Break away then push the button on the pedastol. The sewers will now be open. But get back to the wall and kill the Reptiloids on the ledges near the door. Take some Rockets, Shells, and Grenades. Remember, Bio-Mechs must be cleared from this level when you run into them. Get the health tablet and then the health potion. Now heading up the yard, get the health vial, Shells, health potion, and other assorted items, and kill all resistance you encounter. Now dive into the sewage hole, but land on the ledge for Secret #7, a health cube and some armor.
Continue down the hole to exit the level.

Sewers -- 5 secrets
You start this level out swimming in raw sewage. Dive down to the bottom and enter a tunnel which holds Secret #1, Shells and a health heart.
That light at the end of the tunnel is a group of Electrofish attacking you. Kill them quickly. Swim back through the tunnel and surface back at the beginning of this level. Surface quickly, because you are probably almost out of air. Get the Shells, then approach the stairs, and kill the levitating Gnaar Females. Take the Bullets and go up the stairs. In the next area you will be attacked by a Gnaar Male and some Marsh-Hoppers. Get the health vial to the left, then kill the Gnaars, Arachnoid Adult, and the Bio-Mech Minor. The health vial and the Shells on the right will spawn another levitating Gnaar Female and another Bio-Mech. You will also find some Shells, Grenades, a health potion, Cells, and armor, all guarded by a Bio-Mech and Rocketeer. Dive into the water. Finish off any Electrofish left, then find and collect the armor for Secret #2.
Find the pillar with the buttons on it, and push one to open the door into the next area. Surface quickly. When you go up the stairs you will be attacked by Marsh-Hoppers. Get the Cells and the Grenades. Now jump onto the rafters, and follow them right for Secret #3, more armor.
Now enter the door you just opened. Take the armor shard and kill the single Marsh-Hopper. One Hopper alone? Hmm..... Get the Bullets and the health tablet, and then kill the SWARM of Hoppers. Go down the stairs and kill some more Hoppers. Take the Shells and Bullets, then go down the next flight of stairs and kill the Hoppers and the Kleer. Go to the left to find a hidden passage. Follow it into the next area where the gravity shifts. This is Secret #4. Kill the Electrofish, then get the health heart, Bullets, and Rockets.
Use the elevator to get back to the passage and follow it back to the last area. Follow the hallway to the right and kill the Kamikaze, Gnaars, Kleers, Reptiloid, Rocketeer, and Marsh-Hoppers. Pick up the Shells, Rockets, and health vial on a nearby ledge. Further down this room, another Hopper, Gnaar, and two Arachnoids. Also some Bullets and a health vial. Get the Rockets and the health vial, then act quickly to catch the last secret in this level. Kill the Reptiloid, the jump into the alcove behind it for Secret #5, some armor.
Push the button twice to get out and close the door. Kill the Arachnoid, then dive into the water. Get the armor then kill all the Electrofish you meet. There are also some Bullets, health potions, and armor. Exit the water and go up the ramp collecting an Ammo Pack, armor, health potion, and a health vial. A door will open and Sam will enter, ending this level.

Metropolis -- 1 secret
That's right, there is only one secret in this whole level, but let me tell you right now.... it is a weapon. Start out by killing the Gnaar, Kleers, and Firecrackers. Go up the ramp and kill the Kleer, Rocketeers, Firecracker, and Reptiloids. Gather up the Bullets then kill the Kamikaze, Rocketeer, Gnaars, and Bio-Mech Minors. Get the Shells and the Rockets. Then as you approach the Cells, kill the Witch-Harpies, Rocketeers, and Bio-Mech. Get the Rockets and the armor, then proceed into the next area. Get the health potions to the left. Now kill the Kleers, Bombers, Rocketeers, Kamikaze, and Firecracker. Get the Shells and the armor. Then kill the Kleers, Arachnoid Adult, Harpies, Gnaars, Rocketeers, Bio-Mech Major, and Reptiloids. Get the health potions to the right before entering the courtyard where you killed all those enemies. Take care of the Kleer, Bio-Mech Minors, and Rocketeers, then get the Rockets. Pick up some Shells then an armor shard to the left. Quickly kill the Kamikazes. Now take some Bullets. To the left of the building is a health vial. Get the Bullets, armor, and health heart. To the right are some Shells and Rockets which will spawn some Kleers.
On the platform with the obelisk you will find some Bullets and Shells. Take out the Reptiloids on the ledges. When they are dead, take care of the Kleers. Pick up the armor and health cube then go through the door, collecting Cells, Grenades, Bullets, Shells, and Rockets. Go through the doors into the next area where various enemies will attack you. In this yard you must find four Scarabs. Each time you collect a Scarab, more enemies will spawn. I will only tell you where to collect the Scarabs. It is up to you to kill all the enemies and take all the items you need. In the building out in front of you, pick up the first Scarab. To the left heading in, you should find the second Scarab. On the right side of the courtyard, enter a building with Cells and collect the third Scarab. Go further down the yard and find the fourth and final Scarab in a room with some Rockets. Now once all the enemies are dead, and you have collected all the items, go through the door. Collect the Rockets, health cube, health tablet, armor, and the Ammo Pack, then look to your right. Blast the wall open for Secret #1, a Cannon!
Kill the Bombers, Rocketeers, and the Firecracker, and continue. Kill the Kleers, Rocketeers, Bombers, Kamikaze, and the Reptiloids. Further down this path you will need to take out some more Kleers and another Bomber, and then some Bio-Mech Minors. Take the Cells, Rockets, armor, and health cube. The corner of this path will have some Grenades, armor, and a health potion. Kill the Bio-Mech Minor and the Arachnoids before taking the Rockets, Bullets, armor, and then killing the Reptiloids and Kleers. Kill the Kamikaze then continue on, and stop when you reach the spike trap. A trap door will close over the spikes when a Werebull comes around the corner. For the first Bull though, it will not, and it will fall to its death. For the second one though, the trap will start letting them across. After five Werebulls have been killed, the trapdoor will close, allowing you to cross.
Collect the health heart, armor, Ammo Pack, and the Minigun, and continue. More Bulls start charging at you, so finish them off. Pick up the health potions, the armor, and the Ammo Pack, and finish off a horde of Kleers. And I mean a HORDE. Go through the doors into the next wide open area. Collect the Shells, armor, and health cube. You will now be attacked by Kamikazes. "They never learn!" Get the new armor, Ammo Pack, and health cube, then look to the skies for some Witch-Harpies. "That's right, it's all in the wrist." Another Ammo Pack, health cube, and more armor will be spawned for you to collect. Then take out the pack of Werebulls. "Now that's a lot of bull." Pick up the Ammo Pack, health cube, and armor, and now battle some Kleers and Bio-Mech Majors. After the third wave of Kleers and Bio-Mechs, Sam will go "YEEEEEEHAAWWW!!!" and the doors between the two columns will open. Head into the hallway, and Sam will go through it. He will then collect the Amon-Ra Key, ending this level.

Alley of the Sphinxes -- 1 secret
Another level with only one secret. This level is pretty much straight forward, literally. You start out relieved of all your ammo, except for your Shotgun Shells. Collect some Shells, a health potion, and an armor shard. Kill the Rocketeers, Firecracker, and the Gnaars now attacking. Out in the desert to your left, you should see an oasis. Head for it and claim Secret #1, Rockets guarded by some Bio-Mechs, Majors and Minors.
Back on the main path, take the armor shard and kill the Bio-Mech Minor, Kamikazes, and Rocketeers. Get the next set of Shells and armor, then kill the Gnaar, the Kleers, and the Reptiloid. Now get the Shells, Rockets, and health cube. Kill the Kleers, then advance taking the Shells, armor, and health potion. More Kleers, and an Arachnoid Adult, will attack. When they are dead get the armor shard, Shells, Rockets, armor, and health potion. Some Rocketeers and Werebulls are your next enemies. Hint: I just let the Bulls ram the Rocketeers until they are gone, then focus all my ammo on the Bulls. After you've killed them, grab the Shells, armor, and health vial. Clear out the Kleers, the two Bio-Mech Minors, and the Bio-Mech Major. Now gather up the Rockets, health cube, Cannonballs, and the Cannon. ("Owned!") Watch out for a pack of Werebulls and a Bio-Mech Major. Get the armor and the health cube, then go through the door into the courtyard.
Get the Shells in this room, then collect the armor in the center to summon some Kamikazes and Kleers. A Werebull will also enter the fight. Now collect the Shells and the health heart to summon more Werebulls. When all the Bulls are dead, the doors marked with the flags will open. Pick up all the ammo, the health, and the armor, then enter the next area. In this next area you will get to use the four Elements you collected. I will leave the killing and the collecting to you here, but let me tell you about placing the Elements in here. Each Element must be placed on a pedastol surrounded by four torches. Each time you place down an Element, more enemies and items will be spawned.
When all four pedastols contain an Element, finish off the remaining resistance. Now gear up, and step back and prepare to meet your newest enemy, the Lava Golem. There are three different sizes of a Lava Golem: Small, moderate, and large. You are facing a large Golem. So large that there is a health bar at the top of the screen. It can predict where you will go assuming you keep moving in the same direction, so change direction often to avoid its fireballs. And don't get too close or he can pound you to death. As you kill it, it will spawn moderate-sized Golems from it. Kill them and they will spawn small Golems. When all the Lava Golems are dead, enter the door and exit this level.

Karnak -- 8 secrets
Welcome to Karnak, the first part of the city of Thebes. Immediately as you start this level, and I mean IMMEDIATELY -- walk backwards past the closing doors to get Secret #1, the "Generous Yard."
If you miss this secret, the doors will close and remain sealed forever. So this is your only chance. This yard will prove to be not so generous. Collect the Cannonballs. Now in the courtyard take out the Bio-Mech Major and the Highlander. Remember that guy? In the corner to your left are some Rockets. Some Grenades are also to your left. Grab the health heart and the obelisk will explode. Kill the Lava Golems (Moderate in size.) that come after you. There are some Grenades and Bullets on the other side of this yard. Go back through the doors to the beginning of this level. Get the Serious Pack and go through the door into the next room. Kill the Rocketeers, Arachnoid, Firecracker, Marsh-Hoppers, Werebull, and the Kamikaze, then pick up the health potion. Back at the door which brought you into this room, look on the pillars on either side of you for two buttons. Push them both to lower an elevator. Use it to get to Secret #2, Cannonballs and a health potion.
Back on the ground kill the Gnaar Females then go through the door. Kill the Arachnoid, Bomber, Kleer, and Gnaar Male, then take the 8 health tablets. Around the wall take out the Kleer and the Rocketeer and take the Shells. Go through the door now and kill the Kleer, Gnaars, Rocketeers, and the Arachnoid. In this yard you will find some armor shards, Bullets, Shells, and a health potion. You will also spawn some Kleers and Rocketeers when you pick these up. Ignore the ramp leading you to a door, there is a spike trap right in front of the door. Head through the door to the right. Kill the two Kleers that will ambush you. To your left is a health potion, and then in the corner some Cannonballs. Turn around and kill the Kleers, Rocketeers, and Lava Golem, moderate size. You will now be attacked by some Bio-Mechs, Majors and Minors. Get the Shells from behind the building and enter it. Kill the Bomber in front of you and the Rocketeer behind you. Grab the health potion and push the button. Note one of the sphinx statues is moving towards the spike trap I pointed out earlier. Back outside, Mental seems angry that you pushed that button, so he summons a Kleer and a Bio-Mech Minor. To the left of the main building is a health potion which spawns Rocketeers and Bombers. Now another moderate Lava Golem, Kleer and Kamikaze will attack you. Get rid of them quickly. To the right of the building is a health cube, which summons more Bombers, and some Bullets. Enter the building to the right and kill the Kleer and Rocketeer. Push the button and note that the other sphinx statue is moving. Oh and take care of the Bio-Mechs too. Now move towards the main building and kill the Gnaars, Bomber, and Rocketeers. Get the health potion then enter the building. Get the armor and the Shells here in the foyer. Go through the next door. Kill the Rocketeers, Gnaars, and the Arachnoid, and take the health potion. Get the armor, Cannonballs, and health potion on the platform, and throw the switch. The sphinx statues will fill the spike pit with tightly-packed sand, allowing you to cross into the door that opened as well.
As you get off the platform, a Kleer, Gnaar, and Rocketeer will attack. Exit this area and kill the moderate Lava Golem, Rocketeers, Kleers, Reptiloids, Werebulls, Gnaar, Kamikazes, and Bio-Mech Major. Back through the doors you will have more Rocketeers, Kleers, and another Bio-Mech Major to deal with. Go through the door that you just opened. Start by killing the Gnaar, Kleer, and Rocketeer, and enter the room to the left. There is another Gnaar in here and some more Rocketeers behind you. In this room you can pick up health tablets, a health cube, Cells, and Rockets. Enter the room on the right and kill the Kleer. Then take the armor shards, Bullets, and the green armor. Now push all four buttons on the central column to unlock the next door. Get the health potion to your left before approaching the Arachnoids, Juvenile and Adult, guarding the golden Ankh. Once they're awake you will summon some Marsh-Hoppers, Rocketeers, Bombers, Gnaars, and Kleers. End this fiasco, then take the Ankh. Some Kamikazes will charge at you now. On the platform grab the Rockets and the Bullets, then enter the door.
To your left is a Gnaar guarding some Shells and armor. To the right is a Gnaar and a Kleer guarding some Shells, Rockets, Bullets, and a health potion. Grab the health heart and you will be locked inside. You will be lowered into a foggy area. Kill the Rocketeers, then the Bombers, then Firecrackers. And then two Gnaar Females. Kill the Kleers next, then the invisible Gnaars. You will now be raised back up. As you emerge you will have two more Gnaars to kill. Go through the next door. Take out the Rocketeers, Gnaars, Werebull, and the Kamikazes. Get the health potion. Then as you approach the door on the left, kill the Firecracker, Gnaars, moderate Lava Golem, Rocketeers, Bio-Mech Minor, and Kleer. Get the armor to the left. Get the rockets and a health vial and kill the Kleers. To the right get some Shells and Rockets, then kill some Kleers and Rocketeers. Take the Rockets and the armor, then go through the door on the left. After the cut-scene get the armor to your right and head out into the new area. Three moderate Lava Golems will attack. When they are dead get the Shells and armor. Get the health potion to the left and kill the Kleers, small-sized Lava Golems, Arachnoid, levitating Gnaar, and Bomber. Get the armor and continue on. Kill the Arachnoid Adult and the Bio-Mech Major. Gather the Shells, Rockets, and health potion in the corner. Turn around and kill the advancing Kamikazes and Kleers. Grab the Cannonballs and kill the Gnaar, Bombers, and Kleer. Note that the door is locked, and there is no changing it. Get the armor and the Rockets. Then in the right corner, take the Shells, health tablet, and health vial. Kill the Kamikazes and the moderate Lava Golem. Keep going and kill the Bio-Mechs, Kleer, Gnaar, and Reptiloid. Get the Shells and the health potion. Now kill the Bio-Mechs, Kamikaze, Rocketeers, and levitating Gnaar. Now dive into the pool. Get the health potion to summon some Electrofish. Remember to surface for air as needed. Grab the Cannonballs to open an area behind you which is Secret #3, Cannonballs, Rockets, three gold armor pieces, Bullets, a health vial, and three health potions.
Go back into the main pool now. Kill more Electrofish and get the Rockets in the right wing of this pool. Note the darker wall panel. Move up against it to open it for Secret #4, armor and a Papyrus.
It's a message from Croteam! They are telling you to enjoy the rest of the game and good luck. Nice little easter egg, eh? There are more Rockets in the left wing, and more Electrofish are spawned as you collect them. Now get the Rockets out in front and enter the tunnel. Get the health vial and kill some more Fish. Get the Shells and the Rockets in this next area, then look behind you. Get the armor shards on the bridge. Find and push two buttons to trigger Secret #5, which we will get later.
Go through the door illuminated with the torches. Collect the golden Amon Statue, then kill some Kamikazes, levitating Gnaar, some Kleers, Rocketeer, and Arachnoid Adult. Grab the Shells, Rockets, health potion, and armor, then use the portal to get back to the pool area. Get on the platform with the obelisk and jump into the water. This next area is the secret we opened. Follow the passage as it shifts gravity. Use the button to flip yourself and obtain a health heart and Ammo Pack. Head back to the pool area now. Take out the Gnaars, Witch-Harpies, and the Reptiloid. Head back to the door that brought you into this area. Note the newly-spwaned ammo. You will now be attacked by Kleers, Gnaars, Rocketeers, Bio-Mech Minors, a Firecracker, and a Bomber. Go through the door and kill the Rocketeers, moderate Lava Golems, Arachnoid Adult, Gnaar, Kleer, Kamikazes, and Bio-Mech. Go through the door to your left now. Some Gnaars will ambush you. The next area has Bullets, Rockets, Shells, Cells, Cannonballs, a health cube, and blue armor. The pool on the right has some armor shards and a health potion. The pool on the left has some Bullets, Rockets, Shells, and health tablets. There is also a wall panel that can be opened up for Secret #6 armor shards in a room with shifting gravity.
Continue on through the doors. The middle left and middle right statues are hiding some armor. The far right statue has a health tablet. So many Marsh-Hoppers will attack you now a health bar will appear. A health potion will also spawn. When you finish off the Hoppers, a horde of Kamikazes is next. Another health potion will spawn when they are gone. Now battle off some Kleers. Some armor has now spawned. Step onto the touchplate next to the door to spawn some Werebulls. All you need is one Bull really. Let it charge the door, busting it open and killing itself. Enter the door. Many items are in this area. I will however describe the enemies. You start out under attack by a moderate Lava Golem and some Kamikazes. Then you have some Kleers and Arachnoid Adults to worry about. You should find a dark wall patch on the left wall. This is a walk-through wall which takes you to Secret #7, an Ammo Pack.
Another walk-through wall is on the opposite wall, but will be activated momentarily. Now though take care of the Gnaars, the Harpies, and the Bio-Mech Majors. Now you have two more Arachnoid Adults to deal with. You should now get a message saying "Secret health has been enabled!" Go through the walk-through wall on the right wall and get Secret #8, a health heart.
When you are ready, go outside and take out the Werebulls. Or... you can off them right here from the safety of your alcove, well some of them. A second wave of Bulls will attack. Then a third wave. Now you will have some more Bulls and some Bio-Mech Majors. When they are finished off, go through the doors that just opened. Sam will place the Amon Statue on the pedastol, ending this long level.

Luxor -- 8 secrets
Start by collecting the health cube and the Bullets, and go through the doors. Get the Ammo Pack, then the Cannonballs to your left, and the Rockets and health potion to the right. Some Shells and armor line the wall on the right. The next doors will open and you will be attacked by Werebulls, Gnaars, Kleers, and a Reptiloid. Head towards the Cells and kill the Kamikaze. Get the health potion in the opposite corner then go through the doors. Destroying the statue will summon some Kleers. Kill the two Bio-Mech Majors. Get the Rockets and the armor. Then go to the left and get the health vial, Grenades, Rockets, health potion, and kill the Kamikaze. Enter the door and kill the Kleer, then take the health potion. Go through the next door and get the Rockets. Get some Bullets and some Shells, then kill a Firecracker, three moderate-sized Lava Golems, and some Kleers. Gather up some Grenades, then an armor shard in the corner. This will cause an Arachnoid Adult to come after you. Some more Grenades are in the opposite corner. There are also some Rockets and a health vial in this area. Now enter the building to the left of the entrance. Heal yourself with the health potion. Get back outside and kill the Werebulls. Back in that building the ceiling has collapsed into the building, giving you Secret #1, a health potion, Cannonballs, and Rockets.
Grab the armor near the door. Now go through the door. You are under attack by an Arachnoid Juvenile and some Kamikazes. As you go left, take the Shells and kill the Kamikazes, Kleers, and Werebull. A Bio-Mech Minor and some more Kleers will attack as you approach more Shells. Some Rockets, Grenades, and armor are located in a dark area. Kill the Kleers that have ambushed you. Get the last group of Shells and kill the Bio-Mech. After climbing a few stairs, push a button. Kill some more Kleers and go around the central structure. Kill the Bio-Mech and the Arachnoid. In the alcove, get a health potion and push the button here, and kill even more Kleers, Bio-Mechs, and another Arachnoid that were summoned. Back at the front, enter the structure and quickly kill the Kamikazes and the Bio-Mech. Get some Bullets, then kill another Kleer. Follow the ledge out and kill yet some more Kleers and yet another Arachnoid. Take some armor, Rockets, a health potion, and kill some more Kleers. Grab a health vial, Bullets, and some Shells. Kill the Bio-Mech Major and more Kleers. Keep going straight and collect the Cells, Rockets, health potion, and the Golden Heart. Now fight off the Witch-Harpies. Drop onto the lower ledge, take a health potion and kill even some more Kleers. Take the health potion, armor, Bullets, Grenades, and Cells, and take care of the Kleers here. Heading left, take out the Bio-Mech and some Arachnoids, and yes, more Kleers. Go all the way to the right. Step onto the marking, which is a bounce pad taking you to Secret #2, a health potion. Use the bounce pad on the wall here to get to a ledge with Bullets. Find a discolored wall panel here and blast it open for Secret #3, Bullets, Cannonballs, and Cells.
Go back to the door next to the markings and go through it. Kill the Werebulls and the Kleers charging at you. Now enter the door on the other side and kill more Kleers. Go through the next door and kill the Kleers then take the Rockets. Kill the Bio-Mechs, Arachnoids, and Kleers. Now blast one of the columns for Secret #4, Cannonballs and a health vial, guarded by a Kleer.
Another column will summon Werebulls, Bio-Mechs, and a Reptiloid. Go around the yard and get the Cannonballs, Rockets, Cells, and Bullets. Now go through the next door into the next area where you will find the Feather of Truth. Get the Shells to the left and Rockets to the right and kill the Kleers. Follow the wall to the left and take out a Kleer that is waiting to ambush you. You should find a bounce pad that takes you to Secret #5, a health heart.
More Kleers, Bio-Mech Minors, and an Arachnoid Adult will attack you throughout this yard. You will also find some Bullets, a health vial, and armor. Start up the stairs and get the Rockets, Grenades, and Cells. On the next ledge (The one with an obelisk.) kill a Bio-Mech Major that just spawned. Continue to your right. Kill the Kleers and Reptiloids then take the health vial. Next, collect some Shells, a health potion, and the Feather of Truth. Take out the Harpies, Bio-Mech, and the Reptiloid. Back on the ledge with the health vial turn left and jump onto the ledge with a discolored floor panel in the middle. Get on that panel and then shoot it. You will be lowered into a dark room with Gnaars guarding a health heart. This is Secret #6.
Get back on the elevator and shoot it again to raise it out of this room. Jump back to the previous ledge and go through the door. Now that you have both artifacts, the door with Anubis (God of Mummification and the Afterlife.) painted on it will be unlocked. But first, you have some Kleers to take care of. Go through the door now and kill the Kleers and the Reptiloid. A health potion is in a niche to the left. Further into the room, kill the Harpies and take the Shells and Rockets. Go up the ramp to the left, and kill another Kleer that will ambush you. Get the Bullets and enter the hallway. Kill off another Kleer, then take the passage to the left and get the golden Ankh. Going back down the stairs, another Kleer will attack. Take the health vial, then go up the ramp, kill the invisible Gnaar, and get the armor. Enter the long hallway and get a health tablet. That teleporting sound you just heard was a Werebull. Turn around and kill it quickly. Head back to the main room now. Collect some Bullets, Rockets, and Cells, then go through the door. Note a huge spike trap in the middle of this room. This may sound crazy, but jump into the pit. Just when you think you are going to be impaled, SAVED! You are teleported into an area which contains Secret #7, red armor, Cannonballs, and Shells.
Exit this room and go back to the spike pit. DO NOT drop down there again, or you will die. Kill the levitating Gnaars and the Marsh-Hoppers guarding a health tablet to the left. To the right, a health vial. Now go through the door. You will see an obelisk rising from an opening in the floor. The obelisk will then open up and a beacon will begin broadcasting into space. Next thing you will see is a starship from the Sirian system on its way to Earth. The Sirians will arrive when we get to the Great Pyramid, which is not for two more levels. In this area collect some Cells, Rockets, Bullets, a health potion, and some armor. You have two Bio-Mech Majors attacking you now. When they are dead, get onto the platform and get the Papyrus. This one tells you of another mythical location, the Sacred Yards. Take this as a clue that a secret exit is in this level which will take you there. NETRICSA will tell you that you don't have time to try to find the Sacred Yards. I say you have all the time in the world. The next room is stashed with health vials, an Ammo Pack, Shells, Bullets, Rockets, Grenades, Cells, and Cannonballs. Enter the door into the next area.
There is an obelisk in the middle with four pedastols for four golden Ankhs. Your job is to find all four Ankhs, they are all located in this yard. I will leave the items and the enemies to you, but let me tell you how to collect the Ankhs. The right side of the yard will have the first and third Ankh. The left side will have the second and the fourth Ankh. You will collect them one at a time, and the next one will not spawn until you have placed the current one at the base of the obelisk. Each time you collect an Ankh or place it, more items and enemies will spawn. Each time you collect an Ankh, one of the pedastols at the obelisk will sparkle. Place the Ankh where the sparkling is. Once all four Ankhs have been placed, kill off the remaining resistance. Go through the doors that just opened and immediately STOP. Turn directly to your left and go through a hidden door for Secret #8, the exit out of here to the secret level, the Sacred Yards.

Sacred Yards -- 10 secrets
You made it to the second secret level of this game, the Sacred Yards. NETRICSA is pissed that you didn't go right for the Great Pyramid, but I am proud. Immediately starting this level, go to the right and take the health tablet to activate the Silent-Walk Pill. This will deactivate all enemies and will enable the first secret, as long as you do NOT pick up anything until I give you the OK. Ignoring all items, head forward and go through the door on the right. Head through the next door into a room with a pool. Destroy the triangle in the center of this area. You just now triggered Secret #1, a health cube guarded by two Reptiloids.
Kill them and take the cube. Get the health tablet to spawn a very small Reptiloid. Kill him and you will hear a voice saying "Oh my God! You killed Pinky!" After which you will have to kill another Reptiloid, Arachnoid Juvenile, Arachnoid Adult, and some Gnaars. Get the health vial and the armor, then go back through the door. Collecting the health tablet will spawn a swarm of Marsh-Hoppers and some Gnaars. Collect the health potion and the armor, then go back to the beginning of this level. You may not get the armor, health vial, and Serious Pack without any interference. Go back to the pool room and jump into the pool. Kill the Electrofish then enter the tunnel they came out of. Surface into a new area with two health potions, then enter the door. The next area has some armor, a health vial, a health potion, a door with four bars keeping it sealed, four jeckel statues with buttons at their bases, and a goddess statue. Marsh-Hoppers are hiding inside the goddess statue. Now push the buttons at the bases of the jeckel statues. Each time you push a button, a bar will draw back and you will have to battle more enemies. You will face an Arachnoid, Kleers, Bio-Mechs, and a Reptiloid. When all four buttons are pressed and all enemies are dead, go through the doors that were sealed. Get the health potion, gold armor, armor shard, and health tablet. Then on the inside of this yard, collect the Cells, Grenades, health cube, Cannonballs, Bullets, and Rockets. No go through the door on the left. Quickly destroy the platform with the Gold Sphinx on it for Secret #2.
Take the Gold Sphinx. Now head for the button to your left, and the gravity will turn you upside-down. Push the button to raise a platform. Kill the small Arachnoids, then look under the platform for another button. Push it to raise a platform that will give you access to Secret #3, armor and a health heart.
Grab the health vial in this area and leave. If you want to push the other two buttons though, fine. You don't need to though since you already have the Gold Sphinx, and all they will do is summon some more small Arachnoids and Kleers. Now enter the area to the right. Use the floor switch to rotate the central ledge so you can get to the ledge on the left. Kill the Arachnoid Adults, and then jump up ONTO the button, then onto the ledge above that. Do a jump into the alcove to the left for Secret #4, a red armor. Repeat this process for the ledge to the right for Secret #5, a health heart, collecting the health potion along the way.
From your current position, kill an Arachnoid Juvenile, then shoot the block over in the corner to register Secret #6, a platform which will take you to the Gold Sphinx. But don't get on it. I have a better idea.
Use the floor switch to rotate the central ledge so you can get to the ledge out in front. Collect the health potion, and jump up onto the button and then into the area behind the pillars for Secret #7.
Now take the Gold Sphinx. The exit from this level is now unlocked. Kill the Reptiloids that have been summoned. If you want to push the three buttons to raise the water level, go right ahead. Then you'll have to take care of some Arachnoids. As you prepare to leave this place, head to the corner to the right and collect the Serious Pack. It will move towards the wall, but get it anyway. And when you get it, a Bio-Mech Major will bust the wall down. Enter the new area and take care of the army of Arachnoids and Werebulls. When you see the guys in the crate car, head into the alcove in the pyramid and push the button. Step back and watch the pyramid explode into a pyramid of crates. This little bit was Secret #8.
Head off to the right now. Grab the armor in the corner, then continue on to the next corner. Grab the health heart for Secret #9. Keep going and in the next corner, collect the Serious Pack. This is Secret #10, the last secret in Serious Sam: First Encounter.
Keep moving on to the last corner, and get the health cube. Head all the way back to the room with the podium for the two Gold Sphinxes, and exit this level. Now it's on to the final level of the game, the Great Pyramid.

The Great Pyramid -- 0 secrets
This is it, the last level in the First Encounter. There are no secrets in this level. It's an all-out war between you and Mental's legions. All I can say is be extra cautious, preserve ammo if you can, and good luck. Start out by collecting the armor and the Serious Pack, then go through the door into the arena. There are two health potions and an Ammo Pack in here which will continuously be respawning as you collect them. When you move to get the Ammo Pack, the battle begins. The upper niches will open up, and a horde of Kleers will charge out. The battle music starts up. Good luck. I will also tell you what weapons I personally use in different phases of this battle. You of course are free to use whatever weapons you want.
For the Kleers, I use the Minigun to take them out. Hint: Shoot into the niches your enemies come out of. When the Kleers are dead, brace yourself for a horde of Werebulls. They will be coming out of the middle niches. I use my Cannon on these guys. Hint: If you are tossed out of the arena, you can get back in by using bounce pads on the outside of the map, or you can use a portal back in the first room of this level. One group of Bulls will be running around the perimiter of the arena. Kill them anyway. They are still a threat to you. After you've killed the Werebulls, you will have to deal with Bio-Mech Majors and Minors coming out of the lower niches. For them, I use my Laser Gun, and sometimes my Rocket Launcher. Once they are dead, another wave of Kleers will attack. Finish them off, then go through the door and watch the cut-scene.
Meet the boss enemy, Ugh-Zan III, loyal servant of Mental, sent out to blow the **** out of you. He must have had a bad day at work or something, he is destroying all the Egyptian architecture in the area. Right now he has only one way of attacking you, stomping on you. Later he will have other means of attacking: Inferno rockets, fireballs, homing missiles shot from his mouth, lightning gun, and a laser gun. You can dodge all of his attacks. And you can shoot down his rockets, missiles, and fireballs. But try to stay away from Ugh-Zan. And don't shoot him yet. You can't kill him with any of your weapons. If you shoot his health too low, he will regenerate it back up. Right now, concentrate on reaching the Great Pyramid. You will be collecting many Ammo Packs, health and armor items on your way to the pyramid. Among enemies that will try to stop you are Bio-Mechs, Werebulls, Kleers, and Kamikazes. The Sirian vessel you called in Luxor will arrive overhead and hover over the pyramid. When you get to the pyramid, a counter displayed in binary language above the pyramid entrance will begin a countdown to 0. When it does reach 0, the pyramid will start beeping and the doors will open. Enter the pyramid.
Cut-scene; Sam will place the Amon-Ra Sign on a pedastol that appears before him. The whole place will now look like something out of a Sci-Fi movie. Even some computer consoles will appear. The top of the pyramid will open up and divide into four beacons. The Sirian ship will also power up its tractor beam. As NETRICSA will say, the tractor beam will beam up certain lifeforms, while others are killed by it. Let me tell you right now not to worry, you won't die from it, but it is the key to winning the game. The statue guards will allow Sam to continue, and he will ride an elevator up a long shaft into the final area. Let me explain this place a bit. There is a beam of light in the center of this arena directly under the Sirians' tractor beam. You will need to lure Ugh-Zan here later. In all four corners are two accelerator ramps. These ramps will carry you to four hoops directly under the four beacons. Each time you pass through a hoop, the beacon directly above it will light up. When all four are lit, the Sirian ship will activate its tractor beam. There are two Ammo Packs, a health heart, and some armor in the four corners as well. Jump through three hoops to light three beacons. Now I recommend you use your Cannon here.
Shoot Ugh-Zan until the health bar is down in the red. Then while keeping it there, lure him onto the central beam of light, then light the fourth beacon. The tractor beam should hit Ugh-Zan killing him, assuming you did everything correctly. Sam will be beamed aboard the vessel, where he will set a course for the Sirian system. He will phone Mental as well. When the conversation is over, the level, and the game, ends.
Congratulations! You've just won Serious Sam: First Encounter. Hope you had fun playing. And I look forward to seeing you again in Second Encounter.

Though the Secret in Valley of the kings (boom all statues destroyed) doesn't work sometimes, you just have to be lucky for that one I guess.
