Downloads: First Encounter USA Patch 1.05

This patches directly from version 1.00 to 1.05. To install, just click on the exe and it will find where and how to patch. You don't need to have any previous patches installed, but it doesn't hurt if you do. Both combinations should work ok. 1.05 is not net-game compatible with older versions. Everyone needs to upgrade - both servers and clients.



Here is the patch v1.05 for Serious Sam: The First Encounter full version. This patches directly from version 1.00 to 1.05. It's around 5.5 MB.

To install, just click on the exe and it will find where and how to patch. You don't need to have 1.00c, 1.02 or 1.04 patch installed, but it doesn't hurt if you do. Both combinations should work ok. The USA version is for North America, but also works for Poland and Russia. The Euro version works for all the other territories.

The new version is not network-compatible with the older versions, so everybody needs to upgrade, both servers and clients.


If you don't have the original version installed properly, the patch will not work. But you can still use WinZip or similar tool to extract the files from this self-extracting exe, and manually copy them over.

The most important changes are:

- added support for DirectX 8
- due to clipping optimizations for non-T&L cards and GeForce2 series, mirrors now work much faster in OpenGL
- added iFeel support for tactile feedback mice
- support for ATI Truform (N-Patches) both in OpenGL and D3D
- added support for playing Ogg Vorbis music files
- added MOTD (Message Of The Day) on server
- better support for MODs in Serious Editor
- and some more fixes and improvements...
