NO SOUND - Help me fix it!!

hey guys, for some unknown reason the sound on my laptop suddenly stopped working today.. everything was working fine earlier when i turned on my laptop..i was watching some movies... then i did some other stuff... later i wanted to watch another video and then noticed then sound was gone... i havent changed anything between this nor did i turn off my pc..the sound suddenly was just gone while i was using my laptop..

yes ive checked if i turned it on mute accidentally.. in fact i tried everything mentioned on this website http://fixnosoundonlaptop.com/2011/09/09/steps-to-fix-no-sound-on-laptop-or-desktop-computer/ ..but nothing worked :(

weird thing is when i plug in a headphone everything works as normal....when i select the speakers or or use windows audio troubleshooting progam it says everything is okay and it should work.. but it doesnt..only when i plug in a headphone i can hear a sound

does anybody have any other ideas what could solve this problem?
im using an acer laptop running windows 7 64 bit in case thats important.

i think you speakers was broken:(
or the problem is in wires
cos This is what happened to me
and when you watching the movie you hear some Strange sounds? before the speakers stop working?
if you don't
the speakers was broken or if you hear some strange sounds this problem from the wires
that's all man

Most probably speakers are fine. It's sound driver's failure, in Phantom's case.

i have the impression the speakers are broken (i dont use external speakers, i use the ones on my laptop) today the sound suddenly worked for about 3 min before it was gone again, when i plug in headphones the sound is working fine

i agree with glasslady , probably drivers , i had sort of same problem with my spare laptop
camera stopped working , i think it was a driver problem , i tried same as yu "re install drivers " but that didnt work [ for easy fix , i buy usb camera ,lol]
i dont think it will be broken wires , but maybe , good luck

laptops are the most "kicked around" devices ...
if you can hear sound with headphones ...and no speaker.. than its not driver or hardware problem.

most usual problem is bad soldering ... - speakers just dont blow like that ...without reason
if you do know what you are doing - you can open your laptop and find broken connection ...and re-heat it to restore the connetion
Otherwise - ask someone who is qualified to do this ... - in any case - its not a hardware failure... just bad assembly...

yeah i think you are right, i tried everything the internet told me to do to fix this..no success..
i think im gna ask a specialist to fix that soldering for me.. i dont wanna fuck up more lol

thanks for the suggestions guys.

btw im not gna buy sony next time.. a friend of mine bought sony and not even half a year or a year later his laptop turned to shit...every process got really slow..sometimes even booting the os takes up more than 5 min ..

ok,ok , now i agree with ostap , i use my laptop twice a year , it lives in my cupboard with spider webs, so , yes [ how high did it bounce "last time" you dropped it ,lol ]
i only use a desk top which aint fallen on the floor yet , ostap is right
