Knife Tournament MMXIV Edition

Yes indeed, because of popular request (Renato) to organize another knife tournament I've made this thread.
If we find enough participants it would be much like the previous knife tournament.
The tournament map could be shotty complex or little trouble (there will be a poll about it)
I think the frag limit should be something like thirty frags & time limit twenty minutes
What i personally would like to happen is difficulty serious : so 1 cut = death by knife

Remember this is tournament for fun! The fact only the knife is allowed says enough.
Soo, when you want to participate reply too this thread with a confirmation, also if you have any suggestions leave a comment too :lol:

There is not yet a max for players to join but we'd like to strive to a total of 16 players to have a decent game :)
FYI: MMXIV is 2014 in Roman numbers... :)

My personal experience says that the less players (active ofc) the better tournament. If you take 32 players, I'm pretty sure there will be many walkovers.

if you have 8 participants:
group a: (4 players) and group b (4 players)
Each player plays 3 games in it's group.
Best 2 of the group will advance to semi-finals. (a.1 vs b.2 and b.1 vs a.2)

So thats possible :P

Btw, I should've mentioned this; only those that want/will participate can vote for the map choice :lol:
+ I thought the map choice would be very clear from the beginning; but since the voting almost divides the people that will play 50/50 we'll have to wait for the 16th player to decide, if that ever happens :P

It will start then :), this evening i'll make a tournament grid with 12 players (which means 4 players will have to play one less round because you can't do it any other way...)

It is also possible to form two distinct groups eg.: (I, II, III, IV, V & VI)(VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII)
Players from the first group will have to fight against eachother one time each (the same for second group ofcourse)
Then the first 4 players will advance from each group so to fight a normal 8 player tournament.
This method will ofcourse take much more time then a normal single elimination tournament but it ensures a fair tournament. [Suggestions are welcome!]

Random @ randomresult.com [it was done in an honest way, first try is this list; you'll have to take my word for it]
To be clear: every player in his group has to play against each player in his group :)
When you play a game; you post a screenshot of the results in the thread that will be called "Tournament MMXIV edition Results" (obvious).

I suggest first 4 players go next round for quarter finals or 2nd group stage:

You won't organize everything good until you're gonna make dates for EVERY GAME by yourself, dear organizer (whoever you are). Believe me because I've got some kind of an experience. Those "OK GUYS NOW TALK WITH EACHOTHER WHEN YOU WANNA PLAY" never works, NEVER ! Maybe for 10 - 20 % of tourney games, then it becomes dead. You really NEED to make all dates for everyone and always remind them about it via Skype or something ..
